Code of Conduct Expectations
Effective: September 15, 2023
To: Coaches, Parents and Players
Re: Code of Conduct Expectations
We are one week into the fall season and we have already had incident reports submitted for parents breaching the
code of conduct towards both players, coaches and referees. Apparently, we need to remind all participants that in
order to register players or coaches, each responsible adult was required to read the official Code of Conduct within
the registration paperwork - which clearly states the expectations for all.
The Code of Conduct outlines that CYSA has NO tolerance for bad behavior - which includes the degradation of players,
coaches or referees. This is recreational soccer and we are here to provide the fundamentals of soccer to players and
ensure that they have a fun time doing so. The amount of time each incident report takes our team of volunteers to
process (review, research, investigate, make decisions on/notify all parties) takes away from our focus and it is NOT
why we choose to volunteer.
Overall, we would like to remind you ALL that this type of behavior will not be tolerated and only one incident report
will be processed for each individual. Any further incidents reported for individuals with a previous report may be
banned immediately from games and practices upon board review. This may also require the suspension of any players with
association to the parent or coach. We do not want to see this happen, so please take this notice seriously.
Sincerely,
Trieste Madden
CYSA President and the Executive Board
